Spain and the guitar — an inseparable combination. Serenades of Spain goes beyond clichés and reveals the rich musical heritage of both the country and the guitar. The album takes the listener on a journey across three instruments: the Baroque guitar, Romantic guitar, and classical guitar — performed both solo and in duo with voice (Fleur Strijbos, BE) or cello (Octavie Dostaler-Lalonde, CA).

Featuring works by Spanish composers and composers inspired by Spain, the album weaves together Flemish Renaissance court music, Baroque dances, expressive Romanticism, neocasticismo, impressionistic colours, and folklore — forming a vivid mosaic of Spain’s musical history and the guitar.
